Weekly Wrap Up Feb 2-15 2O15: Sleepy Hollow, Gotham, The Flash, Constantine

Episode 16: What Lies Beneath - Is a waste of plot progression

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

Three guys with hard hats and flash lights are in a spooky tunnel. They look like construction workers of some sort, maybe specialist. Walking around, they managed to find a hidden path. Two are black, one is white. After discovering some creepy hole nonsense, you know the black guy gives the white guy a look like "I've seen this shit in a movie before, we are about to die" But the first guy goes in anyway and like the bros they are, they follow to back him up.

The Douchey Mcdouche of journalists
Yup, its official. Black people have now joined the ranks of stupid white teenagers in most preventable deaths in horror scenarios. And we just thought you were the first to die in action movies, you totally expanded your territory. Good job!

So a few men are missing and its time for our witnesses to investigate! Since the rest of the Sleepy Hollow PD is useless in anything that is a normal case scenario. They go into the "impenetrable fortress" and get ganged up on by a million demons. Meanwhile, as they escape the hole, the journalist that Abby met earlier, sneakies up and takes pictures of their escape. Abb, please kick him in the nuts. ARE YOU SERIOUS? PEOPLE ARE IN DANGER. PUT THE CAMERA DOWN YOU POS!!!!

This guy infuriates me. He not only follows them down the tunnel like a dickweed, he decided threatening them with press action is the next best option when they don't want him to join them in their reindeer games. On top of this, Abby lets this moron join the crew after a split second decision of not talking this out with her partner in crime. Just shoot him in the face and get it over with. Augh.

Meanwhile, Frank is being all shady on Jenny, trying to get her to steal his wedding ring back, but she knows whats up. Something is wrong and she only agrees to find out what he is really up to. She figures it out and calls Frank on his bullshit, but he manages to escape. Should have shot him in the leg, Jenny! She catches up and they battle it out. He convinces her that there is another evil soul trapped in him that is controlling his actions and he doesn't have a lot of time left to be himself. He makes a pretty convincing case to her and finds the information he needs to give money to his family due to the fact that he knows that he will not be able to provide for them and is about to lose himself in evil Frank. Sad.

Where the hell did this took place? That isn't the liberty bell.
The best part of this episode is when Ichabod destroys Calvin's $7,OOO camera. YES. You deserve it douche face. So the witnesses go back into the tunnel filled with America's Next Top Models and take a few out to get into the inner chamber. Low and behold, they see my man, Thomas Jefferson, just chillin inside. Apparently the Crane family are not the only ones that are 2OO years old. Well we end up finding out its only a supernatural hologram and even though its cool, the spirit is not helping them in their feeble mission to save the lost men, but he is more serving the bigger picture.

So Jefferson explains to them they got a whole library of stuff they could have used oh...the first two seasons of this show and that its important that this place must stand even though they are trying to save the men. Of course as witnesses..they can't possibly leave the men there. What kind of people would they be? So they save the remaining two and choose the people over knowledge. Jefferson is disappointed, but he agrees to the destruction of his super fortress and the knowledge he's been holding for years. And we also learn that Calvin has no concept between an email and a text. I HATE YOU CALVIN. I hope you get eaten by the chupacabra!

What is Wrong in Sleepy Hollow:

1. Even Abby is questioning the plot -

"I feel we are fighting evil now without an end game." FINALLY! Something I agree with. YES, Abby...wtf is the end game? Even the characters know we are all scratching our heads in confusion.
Wait til Jefferson finds out a black man is currently president.

2. All you old American people look the same -

So did anyone think Thomas Jefferson looked pretty similar to Abraham? For a moment I couldn't tell between them. I really don't think the actor looked that much like Thomas Jefferson. Also...WHERE IS ABRAHAM? We know he is still out there.

3. Who was recording the kidnapping? -

Seriously? They got video of this thing? Who the hell did that? And why were they recording this manhole onslaught while everyone was being taken? That's insane. What a douche.

4.  Abby...listen to the 2OO year old man -

No. Oh God, no Abby. Why did you let this journalist hang out with your spook crew? His plight isn't convincing at all. In fact, he is severely pissing me off. Look buddy, you want answers? Stay the hell out of everyone's way. Nobody wants to save your ass because you just realized you are in way over your head.

5. Nobody has changed the code since Frank's time? -

Isn't it procedure to change a lock code when people permanently leave a facility? Especially in the special case of Frank Irving, the man who supposedly got off on a double homicide? Why would they keep the code the same? Is this a case of lazy cops?

So these aren't demons? Are they at least crab people?
6.  Protectors?-

So those creatures are supposed to protect the area, but if Jefferson's image was waiting for the witnesses the entire time, when did that get added to the plan? If the Witnesses were supposed to find this place, shouldn't the creatures be instructed not to attack them?

Who thought it was a great idea to put a whole army of freaks down there so it would be almost impossible for even the right people to get to the information alive? Don't they have BOLOs for witnesses so that 2OO years later they can be referred back to the description and let them pass through?

So finally we get a Ichabod and Abby centric episode and a break from the Crane family drama. I know the ending still had to include a little Katrina in it [augh], but at least she had nothing to do with the plot this time. Although I have to say the whole plot was very wasteful as far as movement. They didn't gain any ground at all. I was wondering why Ichabod couldn't have just asked which material was the most important and took that with him as he bailed out of the tunnel. I also don't understand why Abby couldn't take a few too? Hey guys, here is some SUPER IMPORTANT stuff for you. Oh you want to just blow it up? K....not like I've been waiting 2OO years to give this to you. Ungrateful.

Episode 15: The Scarecrow - Nothing new to see here, move along.

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

That is the "Oh shit, I can't control her" face
So we continue with Jim's dating life when "surprise!" his girlfriend decided to take the medical examiner position at the Gotham City Police Department. Oh boy...now he can see her all the time. What? That isn't cool? Oh well. You are stuck with her now. You better do good Jim or she will ruin your career. ha.

Meanwhile the Penguin is preparing for the reopening of Fish's old place under his name and is begging for protection against Don Maroni, Fish is trying to survive in some underground lair with a bunch of thugs, and Jim is trying to solve the case of crazy adrenaline man from the last episode.

Also we get more of Master Bruce trying to move on and live his life. He goes hiking in the woods in tradition of what him and his father use to do. However he goes alone and gets frustrated by his parent's death. From there he tumbles off of a hill and sprains his ankle. Crawling his way back up the hill, he manages to make it to find Alfred, who got worried and went out to look for him, waiting for him on top. After pouting for a brief moment, they decide to wait for the sun to come up, sharing a bonding moment.

So this episode is really a medley of everything including the Scarecrow origin story. So we all realize after a while that his father is one psycho dude as he keeps pumping his kid full of adrenaline. He gives him a bit too much before he dies and the kid convulses. Now he permanently is in fear and sees an evil scarecrow stalking him everywhere he goes. That sounds like it sucks. Thanks pops for ruining my entire life. No biggie.

Awww, its like they are father and son
Darkness Only Gotham Knows:

1. Where is the security detail for this kid?-

You are just going to let him walk outside alone, Alfred??? Haven't you ever heard of kidnapping? It has the word "kid" right in the name. There should be a whole army out there with him with the way things have been going lately. Its not like the Wayne estate is running out of money any time soon, but you could be out of a job if he dies.

2. Why are they living in this house?-

Does Dr. Crane and his son have another place of residence, because how are they just living in this burned down home? Are they squatting? Does he just get his kid fast food every day? His father is so obsessed with fear that he probably isn't doing anything related to fatherhood.

3. Stranger-

Why is Jim avoiding his girlfriend? He kissed her in front of everyone at the station. Its not like nobody knew they were dating before she got hired. Not sure what his issue is besides him showing his feelings.

Is the Riddler smirking?
The whole Penguin getting possibly murdered plotline is getting a bit old. I hope they move from it soon since he is a weak character in a weak position right now. Can't Oswald hire some thugs to protect him? Why isn't his detail protecting him more? It makes no sense half the time. If you are in a decent position then you should have security.

Due to his personality though, it seems he is not very cautious on how he plays the game in this city. Fish was way more careful than that. Maybe she should have strangled him herself, because he is not really producing anymore interesting moments at this time. I would say the best scene is between him and Nygma. It was almost like you were seeing a stand off between the Riddler and the Penguin in the future. I can't wait for both of these characters to evolve in their full form. Sweet.

Episode 13: The Nuclear Man - Crime Fighting, Lady Slaying Machine

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

I got this single flower to not show how desperate I am.
I love Barry having a girl to finally hang out with besides moping after Iris for so long. You can see a pep in his step and he's so excited. You can also see how hella jealous Iris is. She's totally like. "You can't like another girl while I like another man! You were my back up plan."

Meanwhile Caitlin and Dr. Wells is looking for Ronnie while Cisco is helping Joe look for some evidence back at the crime scene of the Allen's old family home. Barry gets a second date with his new girl which quickly turns into sex and....did he just vibrate? Geesus is this guy perfect or what? He's a geek, he's sweet, he's fast and he can vibrate? Come on. Now you are just making all the men look bad.

So after Barry leaves in the middle of sexy time on an emergency to save Dr. Wells and Caitlin from Firestorm, he comes back to a teed off girlfriend. That's your fault Barry. You never leave a girl when she is turned on. That is just bad manners. Eventually Iris attempts to cock block because NOBODY DATES MY BARRY ALLEN! OF course he ends up finding out Iris is being lame and has to dish the talk to her. She seems irritated that he had to point out that he isn't into her like that anymore. Way to stick it to her Barry! Move on, woman. You got a guy.

So back to Ronnie/Firestorm/Dr. Stein who is now in the hands of Star Labs as they are trying to separate both men out of the same body. That sounds...scary. They want to run some tests and make sure they won't kill both in the process. However Ronnie's temperature is rising and soon he may go nuclear if they don't separate the two identities fast.

Joe, Dr. Wells is the shady one in this series. Stop it!
During this time, Cisco is helping Joe with his investigation and they find a mirror in the original home of Barry Allen that theoretically could have acted like a camera due to the lightening sparks of the murder event. A lot of gizmo speak later, they got 3D graphical evidence of the scene from several years ago and an indication of blood being spilled on the walls behind new wallpaper.

After Cisco gets excited with their findings, Joe asks for him to run a matching process on Dr. Wells and his DNA. Cisco gets upset and tells him he won't help him incriminate Dr. Wells and leaves. I don't know why Joe bothered to ask. He could have probably figured it out any way without asking at all. Way to blow your cover, Joe.

So Cisco ends up running the blood and we find out adult Barry was there that night. SPEED FORCE CONFIRMED!!! But we already suspected Barry was there that night...and now we know Dr. Wells wasn't there....and he isn't future Barry. Unless Cisco never ran it against his blood, but we assume he did. So who is Dr. Wells? He isn't the reverse flash either....or at least not the one we saw in the midseason finale. But what we do know is he IS another speedster. He could be Wally or a descendent of Barry.

Also the ending was total sadness. When they attempted to fix Ronnie with the splicer, he still dies. I figured this was going to be the case any way. Caitlin is going to have a bad day.

A Lightening Round of Thoughts:

Mmmm spicy chili vomit.
1. Ghost Pepper-

I know Barry's metabolism is fast, but seriously there is no way he could just chew a ghost pepper and drink milk and be OK. Also...that is way too big to be a ghost pepper. Also...kissing him after he ate a pepper and threw up probably is not the best idea. But I guess he earned it...

2. Quantum Splicer-

We all know Wells is shady as hell, but the fact that he sacrifices his progress to return back to his future time for his friends is pretty noble. I just wonder to what end is he trying to gain? Did he purposely use the device as a ploy to keep Caitlin's trust knowing this device would kill him any way? I mean who can build a splicer that fast? I don't care how smart these guys are...there is just no way they could do that in ten minutes.

3. So..the chip is gone-

There are so many damn questions on this show! We learn one question, we get eight more. What the heck does that chip do? How long will it take for him to go back into the speed force? And why did he decide to stall his return by using the chip? Is he trying to prevent a future Killer Frost scenario? Or did he know all along Ronnie was doomed, but decided to pretend like he cared to show Caitlin he was a good guy seeing his suggestion of shooting Ronnie was not an option?

4. Barry Simple-

Caitlin shares her nerdy valentine gift to her sort of husband
Caitlin seriously could have just said. "No I want to see Ronnie. Screw you, I'm going any way." She didn't have to say "its too complicated, I have to go." lol. She just pushed a button. How hard is that shit? Sometimes they treat Barry like he is an idiot. Barry is far from an idiot.

5. You can't outrun a nuclear blast, Barry!-

Anyone else thought that this was preempted into nothing? If Barry can out run a blast, can he now outrun the Reverse Flash? Also Caitlin sure risked a lot to see Ronnie one last time. Woman...you are a whole lot of trouble.

6. Dead puppies -

Hahahahaha. Is Cisco telling him not to finish too fast? XD I'm dying over here.

You know what I love about this show? Is the fact that they don't drag shit out. Things get done and they use every second to make it count. We get to see little snippets of Grodd or Dr. Wells being shady or military man or whoever. Love affairs are dragged out for ages, they just move quickly. Its like these characters act like freaken adults. Even with the flaws, they still are better off than most shows I have seen these days. Another hit for the Flash. Can't wait for next time.

Episode 13: Waiting for the Man - And this is the end folks. But wait...lets make you even more mad this show got cancelled!

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

Is it me or are the sister wives pretty creepy? Hey pretty girl, you want to get married? You can totally do that with us. We aren't creepy at all just being out here alone with you. Your throat needs to be slashed/branded, but then we are totally bonded forever. On top of that they are lead by a perverted older man that seems to enjoy underage wife collecting as a hobby. Oh and murdering cops. Also he looks like an evil Ernest.

You are a terrible bounty hunter.
John and Zed go to investigate the missing girl with an investigator friend, knowing some supernatural shit is going on. They go to a tomb to pull out a body and check for markings or information. That is when John gets a warning from the dead body about a bounty on his head and Zed gets a vision of a dead investigator. Yup. That sounds like loads of fun. While all of this is happening, the girl that was kidnapped is being corralled by the other three girls inside the satanic home. Yay.

So Papa Midnite knows about the bounty and wants to collect it by creating a voodoo zombie to do his biding. He is seen with a man who killed his wife and is pleading for the Midnite to forgive him and his evil ways. Papa Midnite was totally like "hell no" and kills him, casting a voodoo spell on his body. He uses the new vessel to go after John.

But why wait for John in the fun house? He could have attacked him at any time and besides that, how did he know he was going to be there? It seemed odd that Papa Midnite knew exactly where he would be or if he decided to wait there all night for him to arrive. After a huge fight between John and Zombie man; they gun the sucker down and Zed manages to have a vision of where the missing girl is located at. But that is not the end of John's bounty. He is forced to face his good ol, Voodoo buddy again and manages to get away enough to go help save the kidnapped girl from certain doom.

This ending was pretty sinister and cool in a sense. They let the murdering satanist sister wife loving asshole run so they can shoot him. John painfully sees the detective get sweet on his partner, Zed, which we all know he is probably quite attached to by now. And while talking to Manny, he asks the very important question of what happens to him once he has driven every evil creature back. Where would he go then? A lost purpose is sometimes a man's worst fear. Great ending point. But hot damn, those last few seconds were a total script flipper! SWEET. So we are getting another season right? No? Well shit.

Bloody Hell:

1. So...you didn't try to run?-

She had a boarded up window in her room. I would have tried to kick the boards out to escape immediately or at least tried to escape out of one of the doors. I wouldn't be wandering around slowly trying to reorient myself. Teenage girls, man. No wonder they die so easily in horror movies. She finally tries to escape toward the end of the episode, but damn, she could have been gone a while ago.

2. No weapon?-

You got a voodoo zombie and you didn't even bother to provide him with a weapon? This would have been over with in a few seconds if you had armed him with a knife at least. You bad guys really suck at your job.

3. They never explained the properties of the branding-

I was hoping to know more about the branding irons, what they do, and where he might have gotten them from. They kind of just glossed over it for action.
This looks like the "I don't have an answer" face.

4. To what end is the angel being sweet to Zed?-

Manny had never appeared to anyone, but John Constantine and now he is showing himself to Zed. He is a bit creepy in how he does it though. He acts like he is a nice person with some kind of ulterior motive.

5. Wait, what?-

The evil work for him? Why the hell is he telling John to kill them off then? Dude. Where are your black wings? Why aren't you fallen? Damn it. What the hell. You can't do this to us!

So this looks like that's it folks. The show ends on a cliffhanger, never to be finished off. I am not sure why the people producing this ended it like that knowing that its probably going to be messy ending it on a cliff hanger. In truth, this episode could have been way better. It was really the last few minutes that made it worth anything at all, but the random missing partners deal is really starting to bother me. This show has been mangled with confusing entrances and temporary exits of main characters that it almost never makes sense.

Weekly Wrap Up Feb 2-8 2O15: Sleepy Hollow, Gotham, The Flash, Constantine

Episode 15: Spellcaster - If I could be anymore bored...

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

She is just as uninterested as I am.
Does it feel like Sleepy Hollow is another extension of Constantine? I feel like they start out the same way. Shit happens, some creepy demon is running around, heroes go and stop it, demon stopped, victory dance occurs. Its no wonder Constantine has a problem with ratings. I felt these shows were distinctly different at first. Now they are virtually the same and Sleepy has just got better roots in its turf, but Im really starting to feel these stories the past few episodes are aimless as hell and just the writer's form of stalling.

So we finally get to find out that Jeremy is still alive. Wasn't he supposed to be dead? So what exactly is he waiting for? I guess he was throwing himself a pity party or waiting for his lap dog to come back with something useful. So any way, the story is about some crazy spellcaster dude that is responsible for the Salem Witch Trials.

Oh yay, here we go again. Lets chase after this guy and see what happens. Oh no, its all impending doom. Every evil soul will be released! You know, this show is really starting to wear on me. Not everyone should be about impending doom and I would like some of these episodes to connect more with each other instead of just going through the motions.

The only good part was the connection between Jeremy and the motel owner's son. That was pretty cool and I really liked the look on his face as he admired the boy. It was the first I've seen him smile out of something good that was happening, a real connection to humanity. We also get a twist at the end with Captain Irving. That was pretty cool.

Banana Phone!
Too bad these moments are so fleeting. I am getting so bored of these episodes. They started a few new threads of interest, but I dislike the Katrina character so much I could care less what is going on with her. I also find Jeremy's plot just as uninteresting, although the actor is very good and makes the show more tolerable.

What is Wrong in Sleepy Hollow:

1. Freeze! -

This guy must have said stop eight times. The perpetrator even pulls out a knife right in front o fhim. What other evidence do you need to shoot the creep? Just shoot him! No wonder museum guards get no respect.

2. Solomon has Some Great Abs -

Yes I said it. The dude is ripped. Why are all bad guys ripped in the Sleepy Hollow world? Are they the only people that believe in the gym? Are all bad guys really Dude Bros at heart?

You need a new graphics card, firey hand of doom
3.  CGI Doom Style? -

That CGI of the fire hand coming out of the book was reminiscent of DOOM 2. Ewww. Did they run out of money or something? That was just...weak.

4. Augh -

Katrina your acting is whack. I giggle at your dramatics. Who hired this woman? I'm just not feeling it. In fact, I'm not feeling this whole episode.

5. A Good Win? -

They seriously just let that one go? If I were them, I would be so suspicious of an easy win. Like...that's it? You sure? Also whatever happened to headless and getting him back to normal? Did we just forget about that side plot? There are a bunch of side plots that just fell into oblivion.

Frank, you dirty dog you.
Overall I saw Sleepy Hollow is losing me a lot. It had lost its sense of purpose since Molloch died and has been wandering aimlessly through the paranormal landscape. I find that the episodes are starting to represent Once Upon a Time, where they will do ANYTHING to keep the show going and people interested.

But Crane is no longer new and therefore his cute quips about our current century are lessening and his wife is not nearly as curious, nor as funny. I do miss Hawley though. He did add a bit of renegade flair to the group and now that he is gone, the boring has clicked on hard. The duo aren't as tight as they use to be and everyone else is just bland. They better resurrect this fast.

Episode 14: The Fearsome Dr. Crane [And his Doritos loving son]

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

Next time on Cops. Sitting and standing.
There was a helluva lot of shit going on in this episode. The Penguin gets pwned, Harvey gets sweet on a cute lass, Jim is struggling to resurrect his love life after Miss Useless Model walked out the door, Fish is heading out to sea [hehehehe, I didn't realize I made a funny], Bruce goes off on his own, and Nygma frames the medical examiner. Phew! What an episode!

The cool thing about this one is we get to meet the Scarecrow's father and the future little crow himself! Man that kid was so confused like. "Dad, I ran out of doritos...man the meter is out, I don't know what to do. OMG we are breaking the parking laws!" Even though he had some reservations about drowning a woman, he was not exactly stopping good ol pops from doing so. Poor kid. Caught in-between a rock and a hard place.

What I see here is a lot of slicing and dicing of everyone and yet this episode really spent most of its resources and time on Jim and the Penguin. We all know Oswald is a conniving little shit, but he certainly digivolved into Epic Mobster Houdini with that stunt he pulled at the yard. Cobblepot must have 9 lives because this guy keeps getting out of dying some how.

Hope you like burlap sacks in the future, little crane.
Now two people want this guy dead and yet he STILL wants to go back to Gotham. He must have a screw loose because he is going to have to get a lot of people killed before he can rest assure that they won't come back to beat his skinny little butt into oblivion.

Meanwhile Jim is dealing with dating [she's a cute doctor, don't screw it up blondie], trying to solve cases [as usual], and is pretty bummed about losing the Wayne case. Who can blame little Bruce? Justice still has not been served and I have to agree that we are not even an inch closer to who killed the Waynes. If I were him, I would...totally become Batman instead.

Darkness Only Gotham Knows:

DAAAWWWWW. He's so menacing with his baby pig.
1. Pigs?

That victim's fear was pigs? THAT CUTE LITTLE OINKER? But that's babe! That's where candy bacon comes from. CANDY BACON. You can't be scared of pigs. They are adorable and delicious.

2. Coincidence City

So all of these slim leads just lead you right to the crime huh? Yup? Ok then.

3. Jim is a Terrible Dater

Hey hot doctor, lets go out to dinner so you could take a look at these pictures I have of a corpse. GEEZ Jim. At least buy her a drink before you lay it on thick like that. You are lucky she is into you because you got a weird way of getting people to go out with you. But I can't fault the guy, he's trying and his fail is kind of adorable.

4. Adrenaline Glands -

Sooo...I don't get why the doctor was stealing adrenaline glands. Is this a Bane reference?

Baby, Ive been gay for you this entire season.
5. You Done Screwed Up Penguin -

Who takes a gun from some one's bags and doesn't check it for bullets? That was your fail Penguin, you should have known better. Besides that, you are not a killer. You don't like getting your hands dirty. What are you doing pulling a gun on a long term, established mobster? Shame on you.

6. SHOOT THE WINDOW!

Holy shit Jim! There was a small window. You could have shot Crane through the window! *shakes head*

To wrap up this short venture into the comic drama, I would have to say this episode was OK. It wasn't blow my mind awesome, but it wasn't bad either. I'm kind of getting annoyed that they use these bad guys as a back drop for whatever issue they are dealing with in regular life. I want these baddies to count more in the overall scheme of things. These random psychos are just not really that much fun. Are we ever going to get back to the Wayne murders? I sure hope so.

Episode 12: Crazy For You - Barry now has a love life!

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

Sure glad she found a wrench for this battle...
I love those moments between Barry and his father, they are so sweet and genuine. Grant Gustin is a great actor. You could see the emotions in his eyes light up when he sees his father. All of the fatherly scenes, whether its with Joe or with his "real father" are sweet and make these episodes that much better. I couldn't have picked another Flash for this. He is perfect.

So onto the review! The episode's baddy is a hot young girl that can teleport. Pretty nifty trick and a challenge for our great hero. Meanwhile, we got Cisco doing the good intentions thing which we all know is going to back fire on him, Barry is still frustrated at being still in love with Iris and Caitlyn is trying to prove she isn't a boring, stay at home woman wearing mom jeans.

Big battle ensues bla bla bla. You know the deal. Score another one for Flash. But lets be honest here, did she need to go into the villainous dungeon of solitude? She wasn't that bad of a girl. Misguided maybe, but I just think this was an instant that the villain could have been persuaded to do something else with their powers. I feel like they aren't giving some of these metahumans a chance. There has to be more good metahumans out there, why aren't we finding them?

Hi, I'm the future jealous bitch ex-girlfriend. Nice to meet you.
The biggest part about this episode was the ending. Two emotions. One - Oh shit, look at Iris's reaction when Barry moved on! Hell ya! Pound it, bro! The second - Oh man, tears. His father realizes he is the Flash and he is basically telling him how proud he is and to be careful. I just totally broke down. It was the best scene in the episode. The writing and acting of this show is admittedly the best in the comic world today. The feels you get are very touching and genuine. Its lovely.

What I really love most is the distinguishing looks Barry gives his father compared to Joe. With his father, he has a look of innocence and child like adoration. Almost as if he was stuck in the past and never grew up, admiring the father he had lost. With Joe, he has a more warm, friendly, frank relationship. Like he knows he is the man who raised him, but you could tell his eyes don't light up like they do with his father, Henry. Its really cool to see these differences in the show. His eyes and expressions read so well that you can tell what is going on without any dialogue.

A Lightening Round of Thoughts:

OH, THIS IS MY SONG!
1. Around the Corner:

So its been established if teleport chick can't see where she is going, she can't teleport. Fine by me, but did she just break this rule when she teleported to the car with the money bags? Her boy toy had to go AROUND the corner to help her. Meaning she wasn't looking then. Fail, people. Fail.

2. Summer Lovin:

I LOVED this part of the episode. Duets have been popular lately and they are all so adorable, but we all know Grant Gustin can sing since he was on Glee. It was awesome how he just blew it out of the park. It was a great nod to his role as Sebastian, the leader of the Warblers. I love the tease afterward about Caitlyn's drunken night, it got a chuckle out of me.

3. Fast teleporting:

There is NO way she is faster teleporting than he is moving! NO way!!! He could catch her easily in the beginning. You are telling me he can't anticipate where she is going?

4. Ohhh...That is so Awkward:

There is a scene where Caitlyn and Barry had a moment. I was totally reading this weird vibe like, I think Caitlyn likes Barry. Buuuut I don't think he feels the same way. That hurt. I'm so sorry Caitlyn, I know that stung, bad. Metahumans...what a bunch of jerks.

5. Who loves Cisco? I love Cisco:

McNerdiness has left the building
Cisco is the stereotypical guy with good intentions. He makes so many mistakes, but man, he is such a genuine guy and you can't help, but to forgive him. Even if he does let one of the smartest bad guys ever known to their universe loose to plot his revenge. Too bad he is such a nerd that its probably hard for him to get a girl. We need to get Cisco a girl, am I right? Felicity? I know you got to have some room for the Cisco. Yes you do.

6. Dr. Wells Knows:

How the hell does he know every time someone makes a boo boo around this joint? I can't say anyone would gladly admit they make mistakes, but shit. He always knows. Its like...its like he is from the future.

These episodes keep getting better and better. Even though the baddies are generally boring, there is a lot of charm with the characters. The connection and relationship between everyone on the show is my personal favorite and I can't wait for the next episode!

Episode 12: Angels and Ministers of Grace - Even Angels Can Get that Lovin Feeling.

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

Look at the dashing paranormal couple.

Last week I skipped this, mostly because my internet in this location is SO MUCH FUN. Not that last week wasn't great and all. It was a creepy murder house episode, but the gang is back this week and trying to solve a peculiar case of overdose. Poor Chaz is the key to get them into the hospital and close enough to black veins girl to see what is up. A screwdriver in his thigh?...man...talk about taking one for the team. That looked brutal when he ripped it out. Ouch.

So Zed gets another seizure [she had one a couple episodes ago] and they find out she has a tumor. Removing the tumor could remove her ability to have visions. Tough call. John is so angry that he accuses his angel buddy for knowing all along and traps him on Earth in a body until he helps him save Zed and fixes the situation. I can totally emphasize with him. What is the point of having an angel following you if they aren't doing anything to help you? I know immortals are not supposed to interfere with mortal business, but dude, if you are going to just tag along, at least help a brother out every now and then.

This is the face of a man who had enough of your shit.
So they figure out who the killer is and chase after him, but he traps them in a fenced off area and they squabble around like a group of frightened chickens. Then, bam, they figure out Zed's vision in the beginning of the episode and release Manny [the angel] from his prison inside the host body. Manny was able to do his pimp angel moves and take the killer/doctor away, saving everyone. Hey, he finally did something! Good job, Manny. You are finally useful for a change.

The ending was definitely one of the best in this show so far. Constantine being open shows character progression and it was cool that Zed can see Manny now. Its a shame they will likely not be renewing this series, but I can't really blame them. The people who created this series mismanaged this show the entire season and now Sleepy Hollow seems like it has fallen in the exact same vibe and will probably steam roll over it, making it harder to compete. I didn't expect the show to have its moments, but it did and we just got to enjoy what is left of it.

Bloody Hell:

1. How much shit does he have in his pockets?:

John just whips out a can of Hades air. How long does he know what items he will need at certain points? Does he have a whole apothecary in there or something?

Here let me show you...very closely...had to do it.
2. Only sex fiends become doctors:

It seems an age old tale, horny doctor meets hot nurse, hot nurse meets horny doctor, they have sex in the storage room. I wonder how many times this happens a day? I know the job is stressful, but how often do doctors and nurses have sexual relationships? How often do they end up marrying each other? This is a question I am curious to know.

3. This is the most empty hospital ever:

I know its a show, but seriously why isn't anybody seeing this shit??? So nobody saw this guy being chased through the hospital nor the lights flickering like crazy? Right.

4. MRI:

So I actually been through an MRI. Kids, that was the nice version of it. Its not as fun nor as quick in real life. Getting an MRI feels like getting cancer while listening to trash compactors and modems having sex and being in a casket all at the same time. Oh and if you are doing your upper body your head is trapped in a cage similar to what you might see in a SAW movie. I hope that clears it up for you.

5. Black Trenchcoat:

So I can see the hideous transformation, but did the monster doctor had to do an outfit change too? Black trenchcoat? lol. Hilarious. Wait...let me look more evil. I got to change up my coat.

I personally wish this show had been managed better from the start, but this is how the sun is going to set. I can't say I'm going to deeply miss the show, I just wish the story was much stronger than it has been. The cool trinkets that Constantine has always ceases to amaze me.

Hope there isn't a hole in that box.
There could have been a lot of fun with this show, but they chose to design it in a way that never really answers questions. Will we ever get back to that girl they lost in Newcastle? Will we get to have a more strongly past focused episode on John Constantine? Or are we always going to only half understand him and his crew's capabilities?

The answers...may be in a locked box we will never get to open.

Weekly Wrap Up: Sleepy Hollow, Gotham and The Flash

Episode 14: Kali Yuga - Because We Ran Out of Christian Myths to Entertain You With

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

Brace yourselves for xtreme yodeling!
So far this mid-season beginning has been luke warm all the way through. Not sure why, but the spark of the show is starting to dissipate with the death of Moloch. The show also seems disjointed between episode 13 and 14. Its like as if 14 were meant to go first at times or there are time skips that make the show confusing. There wasn't much of a strong continuation connection besides Irving and even then it was mild and spotty at best. Although I loved the painting murderer in the last episode, I feel like the writing crew is floundering for ideas and are trying new dynamics that don't work out as much as I hoped.

Abby and Ichabod are at odds avoiding "the talk" where their pimp alliance isn't so pimp anymore. All the more for Katrina to have a tragic death so we can move on from the *sigh* Cranes. Katrina and Ichabod are so boring together. Its a wonder that they managed to stay married for so long. No offense, but the actress has very little personality on film and it really bothers me. The chemistry is also not there compared to between Abby and Ichabod. I don't really want a love alliance between the two, but the show is always better with them together and I think that is why the past few episodes have been stale.

I think the best scene this mid-season was Jenny getting the bullets out of the corpse. Some how I KNEW the corpse was going to become alive again considering the set up and the bullets made to stop the demon. However demons really never die necessarily, so yup. It popped back up and she shoved a bullet back in. Good for you Jenny, but that shit was hysterical. I also loved it when Ichabod and Abby sang "Proud Mary" on stage. That was a very sweet moment signaling the team is back!

Seances are so romantic.
Then we got the whole subplot with Captain Irving and the possibility he could be influenced by Jeremy. So far its proven false, but the dude has no reflection. I hope he can go back to the precinct and take his job back. The new boss is pretty strict and rather uptight.

So far all we know is he is back from the dead, he seems to be his normal self and he has no reflection. Holy crap, is he a vampire? That would be rad.

What is Wrong in Sleepy Hollow:

1. Where the hell did they get that car? -

Ichabod is driving a new car, perhaps a cherry red mustang. Not sure where they got that car because I remember them taking larger cars most of the time.

2. Where is Headless? -

The Headless Horseman AND the Horsemen of War have been missing from the picture. Perhaps the Horseman of War is dead for now [seems like nobody ever stays dead on this show], but Headless is totally free. So what is he doing in the mean time? Sitting at home, sipping tea, and brushing the fur of his red eye horse?

3.  She Escaped? -

Man, I hate it when people escape. It means we are stuck with her for another episode. Augh.

4. Is Hawley Cursed? -

So many questions, so little time. Hawley was practically marked by the crazy woman, but now we are stuck wondering if he is cursed or if he will survive and thrive.

Why do the beautiful ones always have to be scary?
5. Not Understanding Crazy Chick's Motivation -

So she wanted her and Hawley to be family forever, but how did she start with this obsession and was she lieing about the Kali mark being forced upon her? It is confusing whether she was legitimately bat shit crazy [Like Stephen King's Misery] or she was influenced under the mark of the Hindu Goddess Kali.

 6. Knox's Trap is Designed Poorly -

Its understandable the heroes have to escape the trap, but if you want to trap some one in, they could have pushed ALL of the buttons and managed to get out. What kind of trap is that that gives you another chance to try? Seems like Knox designed it for even his drunk self to get out of.

Episode 13: Welcome Back, Jim Gordon - To Gotham Politics

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

I think the Penguin needs to get some life insurance.
With last week's episode where Fish Mooney gets boned by the Penguin, this is the best episode in the midseason so far. Gordon is back on the job, Fish's crew is dead, Elisa was pimped choked by the Don, the Penguin is definitely getting a raise for being a nosy, conniving little shit. I couldn't wait what to know what is happening next! You got to love Cobblepot, he sure knows how to screw everyone out of a day job.

It seems like everything is back to normal with Gordon being his detective self. We find out that Fish is still alive and gets primed for torture for her tom foolery, but some how her body guard, Butch, made it out alive! He found and saved her from getting her kneecaps busted. Damn Butch. No wonder she hired you. That man is the only loyal friend she's got at this point. She must have been giving him sweet money and sweet lovin.

So the Penguin is celebrating his victory while Jim is investigating a narco ring and some murders, and surprise, surprise; we FINALLY get to see young Bruce! Oh, how I miss him so much. Besides Cobblepot, the young Bruce storyline has to be my favorite. I guess his little friend, Selina, hates having "feelings" for anyone, so she shattered his dreams and left like a little snob. Pffft, women. Don't worry Bruce, she will change her mind again tomorrow. However the poor boy was just being nice and he got a swift kick in the gut instead.

Master Bruce, you just aren't man enough to be with me.
I can see a bit of darkness in Bruce's eyes when Selina let him down. Probably doesn't help that his butler basically called him a bitch and to man up. Harsh, man. Harsh. So as usual, Jim wins the day, but at what cost? Dealing with his new mob friend, Cobblepot, like Harvey dealt with Fish, got him what he wanted, but possibly for all the wrong reasons.

What has to be the weirdest side plot of the episode is Nygma's obsession with the only girl with glasses in the office. She's cute and nerdy, well not really nerdy, but it seems he has targeted her with his little love affair. Awww, the weird kid is in love with the girl that wants nothing to do with him. Its SO adorable!

Darkness Only Gotham Knows:

1. Pause -

Is there a point in pausing when you know the guy is RACING TO HIS CAR. Geezus Jim. Talk about shitty reaction time. If you say, "Hey stop!" and the dude runs faster, its time for a good ol sprint, don't you think?

2. Hiding Evidence -

Is it standard for Detectives to just pocket evidence found on murder cases? It seems so in Jim's case. I don't understand why he had to hide evidence at all or just touch it without gloves. Where is their on scene crime examiner? Do we need to bring Barry into this? I think we need to bring Barry into this. You are doing it all wrong, Detective Jimmy.

3. Dead Witness -

The dead witness thing is cool and I realized that it makes for an interesting plot, but that shit would never fly in the real world. There had to have been more than one person involved for all the feed to get cut and the murder to happen without one possible suspect. I call bull shit.
Fish, you shouldn't have played with your food.

4. Fish is Stupid -

No wonder the Penguin eventually takes over the city, the arrogance of Fish Mooney really tells us how flawed her character is. She has a chance to leave and she decides she wants to cut Penguin down. And on top of that, when she had him in his clutches, she just screws with him. Woman, you came to kill him. Do it already and stop screwing around.

Personally, if she was smart, she would learn a lot of patience or stopped wasting time. Like I said, her arrogance is going to kill her. Now Cobblepot is playing the long con and she has no idea that is why he continues to have a leg up on her. Shame Fish, nice knowing you.

5. Jada Pinkett Smith has Some Crazy Muscles -

No matter what angle this woman is at, she's got some crazy muscles going on there. Its strangely off putting in her shots when she flexes. I mean I know she is skinny as hell, but it just looks odd.

6. Where are all of Penguin's guards? -

Does Cobblepot only have one guard? You never leave your boss alone....ever. Regardless of how safe you feel. He should have quite a few people in the joint that are watching out for anyone that wants to kill him. Like, um, Fish Mooney? Even if it wasn't Fish, everyone probably knows he is a little rat. Why wouldn't they want to eliminate him?

Multi-racial Charlie's angels!

7. Line Up -

Why would the assassin and his sexy band of angels line up in the doorway in a firefight? They are just asking to be mowed down. You don't even need to aim...just fire in that general direction and you can hit any of them. That's a shitty tactic. He should know better.

8. Boob Assassins -

Do these ladies in the photo look like they are ready to have a fire fight? The guy is ALL dressed to impress, but these silent chicks look like they are about to go to a Lady Gaga concert. Am I missing something here? I don't remember this guy needing back up before. All of a sudden he's got his chick crew running around with guns? They can't shoot worth a damn so he better be having some crazy foursomes or they are just blocking his view at this point. I really hate worthless characters and they are pretty darn worthless to me.

Overall this episode brings back a bit more of the original Gotham I loved. I really hope Master Bruce keeps getting more air time because as much as I enjoy Jim, he's just the typical white washed good guy. I want to see more Master Bruce training to be Batman! Because we are totally wasting time on Jim's rise to Commissioner. That stuff is whatevers for me. Although I am loving Penguin's plot to eventually rule the city. Keep that one too.

Episode 11: The Sound and the Fury - Oh Snap, Dr. Wells centric episode? Hells yeah.

Warning: Like all of my posts, there are spoilers inside. If you have not watched this episode yet, please avert your eyes until you have.

NEEEEERRRRRRRRDDDDD.
So this seemed like a pretty simple episode. The plot of the bad guy wasn't as robust. The writers FINALLY gave us the Dr. Wells time we were asking for to get more back story on the sneaky shit. I love how much he is hiding and this episode gave us more of a peek just into him.

We got to know another person from his past, what his house looked like [just letting you know, its totally the shit. A man shouldn't have a home that awesome all by himself, really], we also get to know if he is really crippled or not and some of his capabilities. I couldn't tell you how thrilled I was about this episode. I couldn't stop watching it. This had to be the most exciting one so far. Why? Because I am in love with this character. He is certainly the best character on a show filled with great characters.

He is looking more and more like Hunter Zoloman, but I kind of wonder where his loyalties lie. On one hand he is totally shady as hell with his activities. On the other, he is always trying to prove his worth. What is interesting is the fact that he only revealed what he had to and still chose to conceal other known facts about himself. He told them his deep dark secret...sort of, but he still hasn't mentioned his capabilities. One would say he is totally a bad guy, but his character is really blurring the lines of what a bad guy entails. In fact, I am so sympathetic toward him, it would be difficult to see him die no matter what happens. He is maybe the best bad guy I have seen in a comic related entertainment piece.

I would like to announce, that I am not hiding more shit.
As for the rest of the episode, Joe starts becoming more suspicious of him and is going full investigation mode on his ass while Dr. Well's formal socially-inept prodigal child is trying to outfox his boss by murdering the Flash as a form of revenge. Who knew the odds of him also being effected by the blast? Are you telling me nobody actually died in this event and everyone just went super saiyan? Its hard to tell these days.

Either way, its a huge nerd war up in this episode. NO, I'M THE NERDIEST ONE! But yeah, Barry trusts him with his life and by the end of the episode, it has solidified further. Its nice to see them trust each other and that type of great story telling setup is what is going to make the ending that much more heart-wrenching when Barry has to make a decision to destroy Wells. If he destroys him at all.

*Sniff* I am getting teary-eyed already. I really hope he doesn't have to die...
